SOCKS!?!

I started knitting my first pair of socks today! It's kind of scary and exciting. I am being very official about it, I even knitted up a stitch gage to make sure they will end up the right size when I'm done. I'm knitting from the toe up, two at a time. I am notorious for only finishing one of any given pair. I figured that it might be a little harder to get use to doing two at a time, but at least I know I will finish both at the same time and they should be the same size. The pattern is from the book, "Socks From The Toe Up", by Wendy D. Johnson, they are called Serpentine Socks. They make a very neat serpentine cable effect without using a cable needle.
So far I am still increasing up the toe, but they seem to be going well. I will post pictures and my progress as I go. Wish me luck!

Meathead (the name of the hat pattern, not my child)

I just finished one of the easiest and cutest projects of all time. It is a pattern by Larissa Brown from her book, "Knitalong: Celebrating the Tradition of Knitting Together". I'm thinking I will be making many more of these hats. They are made with super bulky yarn and huge knitting needles which helps to speed along the process. Now, if only it wasn't the middle of summer so Hope could actually wear her hat now. Let's hope for an early fall so the girls can get use out of all of these cute things I've been knitting them.

My New Knitting Blog

I have decided to start a blog all about my knitting and craftiness, or "yarning" as Joel likes to call it. I wanted to be able to share some cute photos of things I've made for those who are really interested in seeing them. So I hope that you enjoy my blog.
